Pre is simply the best.
I never get tired of watching the sky go from clear to raining to snowing on the way to Witman's Folly. I often hang around that fishing village in the south(near where Aidan lives) with their quant little villagers and the stream with the fishing boats all preped and ready(and for the 3 black dye drops I found in that area ).
It's made all the more magical by the fact that it is the one place in the game you can never return to. Sort of like that perfect lost childhood you always wish you could go back too.

I love pre. All of my guildies have a character there. It's a good place to go to relax and experience the nostalgia of when you first started playing gw. Back when everything was shiny and new, and the sights so pretty, and you hadn't yet gotten bogged down into the repetitive grind of farming...

I have had my necro in pre-searing for the past 5 months, I can't bring myself to leave. I like all of the scenery and the townspeople in ashford, the fishing village, etc. Plus all of the waterfalls are great. Oh, and all of the cool caves, even the devourer den looks cool. My favorite is the cave north of Barradin's yard with all of the stone elementals in it. And of course, the catacombs are awesome. I think I'm going to let my necro leave after I buy another slot and then make another character to take her place in there
Whoever said that pre-searing shows the most care and thoughtfulness in its design out of all the guild wars locations is definitely right. The area is definitely some designer's pride and joy, and I hope they appreciate how much many of the players are attached to it.

I have a char permanently in Pre. Why? Because it is so beautiful and peaceful. I go back there just to wander around and enjoy the scenery. The first time I went to post I almost cried when I saw what had happened to Ascalon. My favourite place has to be The Catacombs, I wish that we could have access to The Catacombs in post, maybe as a high level area, they were just so fascinating. I go back to Pre when I want to relax and just chill out.

wish there was a way to get back in there, maybe a hole could open up that takes you back to pre, kind of like tombs, you have to stop the searing or something, take out a important charr or a titan

I do however also miss the charr, too bad they are only in the start of the game maybe in a future game they will be brought back.

What's stopping Anet from making more aesthetically pleasing areas like pre-searing Ascalon and adding action to it?
I found it one of the nicest looking areas, with all the colours and attention to detail etc. and all the green Nice open, rolling lush landscapes, where you can just wander around and relax without be molested by hundreds of angry critters. It's probably the only area in the game where I remember just standing and looking around now and then.
Most of the rest of Prophecies is kinda drab by comparison and Factions.. well, it gets better around Pongmei Valley and one or two places after that, but again a lot is kinda drab especially the Kurzick areas and the less said about that mainland city dump the better.

Oh i remember my original monk hopping trough pre searing in her red pijama. I had gone trough the manual, so i expected everything to go to hell and that made it soooooo sad to see how pretty everything used to be.
We really need a future high level campaign deep into the Char land to eradicate the furrballs and skin the demon who gave them those big fire spells!
After that, i want to see the river springing up again,a first flower growing in the dry ground and the sun breaking trough the ashclouds. We will not see Ascalon restored any time soon, but if that dark sky where to clear it would be a good start.

I keep a char in Pre at all times. I, like most of you, think it's the prettiest part of the game. And if I want some action in Pre, I can just go fight some Charr.
<Spoiler Warning>
I had hoped after doing the Titan quests for the first time that there would be some dramatic cut scene where we rebuild Ascalon, but instead, it just ended. Nothing happened at all. Maybe in some future expansion. I've seen petitions for it and I've signed everyone I've seen

I'd love to see some kind of "Reminisce" option for prophecies characters, which would take them back to Pre-Searing as though they were reliving memories in it. Pre-Searing is easily the best area of both games combined; the gorgeous scenery, relaxed pace and exploration factor were the best possible introduction to GW. I just wish it had lasted longer!

Pre-searing is like a vacation area for me. Every so often I make a new character and play them in Pre for a couple weeks before moving on. I'm down to one 'disposable' character slot now though... :P
